Flooding

Flooding  – Cholera and Malaria

Melissa’s Hope is located in Croix-Des-Bouquet, an area on the north side of Port-au-Prince that severely floods when it rains. Inadequate sewage systems cause the water to become contaminated and make Cholera and Malaria a constant threat. This year alone, six of the children were rushed to the hospital for Cholera treatment—thankfully all were saved.

Our goal this year is to purchase the property.  It will allow us to make urgent repairs and improvements at the facility.
